Expert Camp Day 3: Security
This covers security agents at airports, events (football matches, festivals…), shopping centres, nightclubs, and similar venues.
It’s a complex profession, requiring a great deal of psychological skill to get what you need from another person or a group without using force. You must strictly respect the rules of legitimate self-defence, since — unlike a police officer — you are not a sworn officer.
Your role is to deny access to the area you’re responsible for (e.g. airport screening techniques) to anyone aggressive or armed, while also being able to quickly bring a situation under control when one arises: a bar fight, hooligans at a match, or a threat in a shopping centre or airport.
